Pop-up and towed tags use implanted anchors to attach the tether and tag to the study animal. We provide a number of different anchors illustrated in the Anchors for Wildlife Computers Tethered/Towed Tags (PDF).
Applicator pins are used to hold the anchor for insertion. We provide customized applicator pins for our different anchors. The single-point pin is used for deploying the Domeier and Wilton anchors. The slotted-end titanium (Ti) pin is used for the Ti anchors. These are for use on Wildlife Computers tags only.
Swobbit poles are commercially-available products which are convenient to use with our applicator pins. We stock the short handle and telescoping (3′ to 6′) poles. The pole and handle have a foam hand grip and are interchangeable. These are for use on Wildlife Computers tags only.
We provide a customized dart bushing to attach the single-point and slotted-end applicator pins to the pole/handle. The same dart bushing works with a number of Swobbit brand handles and poles. These are for use on Wildlife Computers tags only.
