Order Processing Specialist

The Role

The Order Processing Specialist (OPS) is an integral part of the sales team. Working closely with the Technical Sales team, the OPS will work to verify and complete orders into the sales system and monitor the status of assigned orders. OPS will also work closely with Wildlife Computers customers to gather additional order information to make sure their order gets to them in time.

Responsibilities

  • Process sales requests from Technical Sales by entering order information in appropriate systems/databases.
  • Coordinate with customers and funding agencies to gather all required information to complete orders, including billing and shipping information, purchase orders, deposits, and Argos PTT IDs.
  • Send ship dates and quotes to potential and existing customers.
  • Answer customer questions relating to order status.
  • Notify Technical Sales team member of anticipated delays.
  • Verify, process, and finalize purchase orders and payment.
  • Process domestic and international shipments of products to customers.
  • Manage international shipping requirements for products.
  • Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to customer questions.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
