Little is known about the gray whales along the Pacific Northwest. A recent project tagged 32 whales with Wildlife Computers SPOT tags and three with ST-15 tags. The data obtained from this study filled in some gaps in overall range, individual residency, and movements between different regions. Information from this study will inform future Makah whale hunts and US Naval activities.
