06 Oct Fastloc GPS Locations Used to Characterize Argos Location Error

This study used concurrent Fastloc GPS and Argos satellite data obtained from Advanced Dive Behavior (ADB) tags developed by Wildlife Computers to assess Argos location errors for sperm, blue, and fin whales. Location accuracy estimates for blue and fin whales were broadly within the range estimated for other marine megafauna, while estimates for sperm shales exceeded those ranges for some location classes.
