Sepulveda et al (2019) deployed Wildlife Computers mrPAT (n = 66), MiniPAT (n = 4), and SPOT (n = 6) tags on Californian swordfish in the southern California Bight (SCB). Only 26% of the tagged fish stayed within the SCB with the rest of them showing affiliation with either or both the Eastern Pacific Ocean management unit or the Western and Central North Pacific units. It looks like SCB swordfish have a higher level of connectivity to the Eastern Pacific than we thought!
