Remember 184? MMoME rescued him as a young, abandoned seal pup back in June from Kennebunkport, ME. He was rehabilitated at MMoME’s center and after a full recovery, was released in early October. He was outfitted with a satellite tracking tag created by Wildlife Computers to help inform post-release life of a rehab patient, and to help MMoME and other scientists learn more about harbor seal habitat use, movement patterns, and dive behavior.
Here is the latest map of his movements so far! He was released in Phippsburg on October 4th, 2019. It appears he stayed close to shore during some stormy weather, and has now gone a little further out. Stay tuned for updates on his very interesting post-release life!
