05 Apr Movements and Behaviour of Blue Whales Satellite Tagged in an Australian Upwelling System
Researchers investigated the whales’ movements, occupancy, behavior, and environmental drivers to inform conservation management. In 2015, a total of 13 satellite Wildlife Computers tags were deployed on blue whales. After analyzing all the data, researchers found that most whales traveled over the continental shelf to feed on fish and then moved to West Timor and Indonesia for breeding and foraging.
