The black caiman is a mystery. Like most crocodilians, they are an understudied group. A study, the first of its kind, showed research on dietary ecology and movement of the black caiman. Wildlife Computers SPLASH tags tracked 76 black caimans. The information from this study will help lay the groundwork for a better understanding of population and habitat. Read the research paper.
